Renting bikes, cribs, beach equipment, and related stuff

Although we do try to keep some beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and various water toys and sporting goods in our outdoor closet, there are some items that we don't have space for and/or are nearly impossible to keep in good shape for guests.

Fortunately, Sanibel has a number of on-island rental companies that offer good prices on rentals of a wide variety of items. Depending on the items, they can deliver them inside the unit either while you're there or even before you arrive (if you let us know they'll be coming -- please at least a week to be sure we have time to respond).

We have no basis to endorse one rental company over another; our guests have rented from both and so far have always had good experiences.

By the way, we have always found the large beach chairs available at Pointe Santo for free to be in good condition and to have good availability even during busy times. It's a lot easier to use these than carrying around a few rented beach lounge chairs. Unless you feel a strong need for a large chair within just a few feet of the water, we do suggest trying the free chairs first.

Also, Pointe Santo does keep some tennis rackets on hand for our two tennis courts so you don't need to rent these (you just need to sign up the day before, starting at 2pm).
